What is a dental implant?

What does the process look like?
- Initial evaluation: X-rays and, in some cases, a CT scan to assess available bone quantity and quality.
- Placement surgery: the implant is inserted under local anesthesia.
- Healing (osseointegration): can take 3 to 6 months, during which the bone fuses with the implant.
- Crown placement: once integrated, the final restoration is fitted.
